Setting Up Message Filters in Eudora 4.1

"Message Filters" are rules that Eudora uses to perform certain actions with certain messages. They may be used to move your mail into certain, criteria specific folders, to highlight it, or, most commonly, to automatically delete or avoid unwanted mail (SPAM).

The following is an explanation of using a message filter to block email from a certain sender:

In Eudora:
  • Click 'Special', 'Make Filter'.

  • Select the necessary actions. In this example, we will have the message filters automatically delete all emails from Jerome@somewhere.com. Once the criteria are selected, fill in the corresponding values.

  • Click 'OK'.

  • To see a list of all of the filters set up on your computer, click on 'Tools', 'Filter Report'.
